Quality Program Provider

The City of Celina Parks & Recreation Department has been awarded the Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider designation for 2021/2022 for it's youth sports program.

The Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider designation is a seal of commitment to quality and safety based on nationally accepted standards. Achieving this designation demonstrates Celina Parks & Recreation has undergone a review process and has shown a commitment to the children and families we serve. Our organization was evaluated in the following categories:

•Written policies and procedures

•Volunteer screening

•Coach training

•Parent education

•Accountability

NAYS Member Organization

The City of Celina Parks & Recreation Department is a proud Member Organization of the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS). 

NAYS educates, equips and empowers youth sports leaders, volunteers and parents so all children can enjoy the lifelong benefits of sports. NAYS, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, partners with more than 3,000 community-based organizations and has trained more than four million adults since 1981. 

As a NAYS Member Organization, the City of Celina Parks & Recreation Department has access to:  

  • Trainings for coaches, parents, league directors and officials 
  • Liability insurance for individual coaches, league directors and officials who join NAYS 
  • Resources and tools to improve our youth sports programs 
  • Coach evaluations through NAYS’ unique Coach Rating System 
  • Volunteer accountability by adherence to the NAYS Code of Ethics

Required Coach Training

In order to provide the best overall experience for all of the participants in our programs, we require all of our coaches to complete brief trainings on youth sports in general, as well as their specific sport.
