7v7 2024 Schedule

Please click on the document below to access the schedule.

Player Waiver/Conduct Form

*** the 2024 player waiver form is posted below. Please click on the 7-on 7 waiver link.

This must be completed by ALL participants prior to the first week of games.  It is best for players to wait to complete this until they know their team has been registered, as you will be asked to identify the grade and team name to which you are rostered.

NOTE ABOUT REGISTRATION for 2024... PLEASE READ

*** Team Entry is now live -- registration link is further down the page.  Please read the following...

Please note that the 7v7 league only allows registration on a team-basis.  There is no registration for individual players who are looking for a team.  You must pay and receive confirmation of registration to validate your team's entry to the league.

Either the Coach or Team Manager will complete the "Team Entry" registration and pay the full team fee.  Then, the players on the team will need to each complete the "player waiver" registration that is found below the team entry link.

This league is intended to develop school teams, not select teams.  Players on a team should most all attend the same school or be zoned to the same MS / HS.

Due to constraints on field accessibility, we can only take a maximum of 80 teams total in the league.  We also need to have an even-number of teams in each division for scheduling purposes.  As such, in 2024, we expect to cap each division at 16 teams.  We will first cap each division to 10 teams and then add teams 2-at-a-time from the subsequent waitlist to ensure we have an even number in each division.  Ideally we end up with 16 teams in each of the five divisions.  If you try to register and it does not let you complete the registration, either with a message of "sold out" or something else, please email Jeff ASAP to get on the waitlist.

Furthermore, for game scheduling, we anticipate that each week one full division will have a bye.  In this scenario, that means that we will no longer be able to field requests for your team's bye week.  (this is not for certain going to happen, but we would very much like to move this direction to simplify creating of the game schedule and any needed makeups for weather.)

Spring 2024 League -- 7v7 Football

Our Friday night doubleheader league is back!  Online registration will open very soon, sorry for the delay.

Registration will completely close once we hit the cap of 80 teams registered to play in the league.

Registration is done by team, not by player.  A formal registration link will be posted on this webpage for the coach/manager to fill out.  The entire $750 Team Fee is due at registration in order to reserve a spot in the league.

* Your team fee includes referee fees -- no more paying refs before your game!

With new LED lights installed at OCP, we will play games in two blocks: 6pm/7pm, and 8pm/9pm.

Divisions are set by grade for Fall 2024, and we have five divisions:

  • Rising 5th grade (current 4th graders)
  • Rising 6th grade (current 5th graders)
  • Rising 7th grade (current 6th graders)
  • Rising 8th grade (current 7th graders)
  • Rising 9th grade (current 8th graders)

Intent of this league is to have school-based rosters, not "select" teams with kids from multiple towns/schools.  Limited exceptions can be made (such as Frisco teams in the younger divisions, or a player from Town A wanting to play but his town doesn't have a team playing in his grade.)  Email Jeff with any questions.

GAME SCHEDULE (projected for spring 2024)

* 3/22 = week 1
* 3/29 = OFF (Easter Weekend)
* 4/5 = week 2
* 4/12 = week 3
* 4/19 = week 4
* 4/26 = week 5 (if needed based on team count)
* 5/3 = finals (all teams make finals day and get 2 games)
* 5/10 = makeup (OR finals part 2 based on team count)

FINALS -- all teams play on finals day, all teams have doubleheader.  Top 4 teams essentially have a bracket to crown a league champ, and all other games are set up to have competitive matchups.

Rule Changes 2022

Key changes listed below.  In the document, the adjustments for Spring 2024 season are highlighted in YELLOW

  • 45 yard field
  • lines to gain at 30- and 15-yard lines
  • all zones are 3-down territory
  • Interception is now dead ball
    • 3 points for defense if a regular play + change of possession
    • 2 points for defense if the play is a PAT + the ball

Soft Shell Helmets Required Starting 2020

We follow Texas State 7on7 rules for most all parts of our rules.  They announced last year that starting 2020 they were mandating soft shell helmets for all their events, and we are going to follow suit.  Their website is https://www.texas7on7.org/, check it out.  NOTE:  we will follow all of their criteria for an acceptable helmet EXCEPT for #1.  But, keep their criteria in mind if you know your child will be competing in their events in the future so you might not have to purchase multiple helmets of the course of a few years.

Huge thanks to our League Sponsor, Dick's Sporting Goods!

Old Celina Park

We will have 10 fields in play at Old Celina Park multi-use fields.

Moore Middle School (CISD)

New Moore Middle School football field in Celina ISD. All spectators must remain in the bleachers and are not allowed inside the fence to the playing area.

Bobcat Field

This is the newer CISD football stadium on the campus of Celina High School. The game field can hold two 7v7 games at the same time. Only coaches and players are allowed on the field. Everyone else must be in the stands.

Gunter Tiger Stadium

Located at 410 Tiger Lane on the campus of Gunter High School. The stadium is on the north end of the school grounds. Fans must stay in the stands and cannot stay on the track. Only team coaches and players are allowed on the field.

Bobcat Stadium

This is the original CISD game field located in downtown Celina. Two games can be played on the turf. Please ignore that Google Maps calls this "Bobcat Field". We promise this is Bobcat Stadium and are certain to specify this as the "downtown stadium" on the game schedule to help with clarification.
